Fluke is a global US industrial company that manufactures electronic measuring devices.

The company was founded in 1948 by John Fluke in the northwestern United States . Today the headquarters are in Everett , Washington state . Fluke has plants in the United States, Asia, and Europe, and sales and service subsidiaries in several countries. Fluke is now part of Fortive Corporation .

With the handheld digital multimeter Type 8020A, introduced in 1977 , Fluke created the model of the digital multimeters with liquid crystal displays that are still common today and from then on no longer only supplied workshops and laboratories, but also primarily developed devices for field use. The 8020A was equipped with varistors and fuse resistors to protect against overvoltage .

The Fluke range now includes measuring instruments, especially for field use, including for demanding tasks such as oscilloscopes or thermal imaging cameras .

The official domain fluke.com was registered on October 27, 1986 and is one of the 40 oldest .com domains still in existence.
