Frank Zielecke

Franklin "Frank" Zielecke (born June 12, 1946 ) is a former German weightlifter .

Career

Frank Zielecke comes from Magdeburg and started lifting weights there in 1960 . After initial success in the youth and junior sector, he was delegated to TSC Berlin , where he underwent intensive training. His trainer was Dieter Annas. In 1968 he was used internationally for the first time in battles between the GDR. In the same year he also achieved his first podium place with the seniors with the 3rd place at the GDR middleweight championships. In 1972 he qualified for participation in the Olympic Games in Munich , where he achieved an excellent 5th place in the middleweight division (up to 75 kg body weight at that time). In 1973 he was runner-up in the light heavyweight championship in the all-around and world champion in pushing at the World Championships in Havana . Frank Zielecke was active until 1976.

The trained locksmith trained to become a teacher.
