Ott Hydromet GmbH is a company in the field of environmental measurement technology based in Kempten (Allgäu) . Ott Hydromet is a leading competitor in the field of sensors and data acquisition systems for the entire natural water cycle in the fields of hydrometry, hydrogeology, meteorology and environmental technology. The company is now part of the Danaher Corporation .
Company history
In 1873 Albert Ott (1847–1895) founded the "Mathematical-Mechanical Institute A. OTT" in Kempten. Products were writing levels, hydrometric blades and planimeters. At the same time, these product focuses were further developed. As early as 1880, Albert Ott presented his products to a wide audience at the world exhibition in Melbourne . Five years later, the company's founder developed his first measuring blade.
In 1895, Albert's brother Max and later the Swiss Adolf Steis took over the company. In 1922 the first own measuring channel was put into operation. In the 1930s, the so-called Ott settlement on Keplerstrasse was built for the company's employees. Here the company bought the land and left it to the skilled workers so that they could build their houses. The main aim of this action was to keep these skilled workers in the company. The "Conzen-Ott train timetable calculator" presented in 1943 was used by the Deutsche Bundesbahn until the 1980s. In 1965 the company brought the punched tape remote level recorder with remote data transmission onto the market.
In 1993 the company moved to the former factory premises of Denzler AG . In 2002 the Danaher Corporation took over the precision mechanics manufacturer Ott. The independence was retained.

The company produces and sells products for water level and flow measurement , water quality measurement , data acquisition and telemetry, as well as measuring devices for meteorology .
