Wolfgang Lanzenberger (born February 27, 1959 in Munich ) is a German director , author and cameraman who helped shape the founding years of German private television and was involved in the start-ups of Eureka / ProSieben , DSF and N24 .

He is currently head of direction at ProSiebenSat.1 Production in Unterföhring . In addition to the studio productions for ProSieben , Sat.1 , and kabel eins , Lanzenberger is also active in the advertising environment. He made numerous corporate films and commercials as well as art documentaries under his own label FilmArt.

Life

After graduating from high school, Lanzenberger studied communication science, market and advertising psychology as well as sociology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , completing a master's degree . He then completed an internship at BR Fernsehen , where he worked as a freelance television journalist from 1986 to 1988 in the education and society program area. Lanzenberger began directing at Eureka TV in 1987 . Since the station was renamed Pro7 Television GmbH (1988) and SZM Studios was founded as a production service provider (1993), Lanzenberger has been responsible for directing the start of formats and the start of three national television stations.

Lanzenberger directs live broadcasts and recordings and looks after television formats such as Galileo , taff , red! , and files (Sat.1; since 2019). In the past he was responsible for Welt der Wunder (1996 to 2004), Wunderwelt Wissen (2005 to 2007) and SAM (1995 to 2009) as well as current news , news magazines and special election programs (1989 to 2003) for ProSieben, Sat. 1, cable one and N24. In 2000 Lanzenberger was appointed director of the company. In 2004 the name of the SZM Studios was changed to ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion.

Lanzenberger has been a training officer at ProSiebenSat.1 Production since 2001 . In addition, from 2010 he received teaching assignments at the Hochschule der Medien (HdM) in Stuttgart , the DMA Media Academy in Munich and the Bavarian Academy for Television and Digital Media in Unterföhring. As a specialist book author, Lanzenberger was particularly involved in the field of live television production .

In addition to his television activities, Lanzenberger has been producing corporate films since the 1980s . He advises companies on the development of their own film projects and implements them as a director and author together with production partners. Lanzenberger has published on the subject of corporate films (together with Michael Müller), since 2009 he has been a jury member at Corporate Media and since 2018 at the Inkometa Award . Lanzenberger also holds in-house training courses and workshops on corporate films and live TV .

Lanzenberger also worked as a cameraman for public broadcasters: he shot articles for the culture magazine Capriccio as well as cultural documentaries on the subject of classical modernism and contemporary art and documentaries broadcast by 3sat , arte ( Metropolis ) and ARD-alpha .

Under the name FilmArt Lanzenberger , Lanzenberger dedicates himself to various cultural and documentary film projects; since 2019 he has been bundling his film activities under the label Wolfgang Lanzenberger Bewegtbild .

Wolfgang Lanzenberger lives in Munich in the Haidhausen district . He is married to the medical journalist Laura Westphal-Lanzenberger. In addition, he volunteers as a mentor in the mentoring program of the LMU Munich.
