The first name Elam refers to several people in the Bible :

  • Elam, son of Shem and thus grandson of Noah , he is the forefather of the Elamites ( Gen 10.21  EU , 1 Chr 1.17  EU )
  • Elam, son of Shishak from the tribe of Benjamin ( 1 Chr 8,24  EU )
  • Elam, the fifth son of Meshelemias, a descendant of the Levite Abiasaf ( 1 Chr 26.3  EU )
  • at least two different Elam, ancestors of families who returned from exile in Babylon with Zerubbabel ( Esra 2.7  EU , Esra 2.31  EU , Esra 8.7  EU , Neh 7.12  EU , Neh 7.34  EU )
  • Elam, the grandfather of Schechanja, who suggests that all foreign women be sent away ( Ezra 10.1–44  EU )
