Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya

Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya (born November 20, 1960 ) is a Cuban politician of the Communist Party of Cuba, PCC (Partido Comunista de Cuba) , who has been Minister for Science, Technology and Environment in the Cuban Council of Ministers since 2012 .

Life

Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya completed a course of study after attending school, which she completed with a master's degree (Máster en Ciencias) . She then worked as a professor and department head at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the Universidad de Oriente in Santiago de Cuba and as general secretary of the local party committee. She was also a functionary in the Central Committee's Department for Education, Science and Culture and a candidate for the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, PCC (Partido Comunista de Cuba) . She was also President of the Science and Technology Council of the Permanent Commission for the Implementation of the Guidelines of the Party's Economic and Social Policy and the Revolution. She was at the V Party Congress in 1997, at the VI. Party Congress 2011 as well as delegates at the VII Party Congress 2016 and was each elected member of the PCC Central Committee.

Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya, who is also a member of the National Assembly of People's Power ( Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular ) , succeeded José Miguel Miyar Barruecos, Minister for Science, Technology and Environment (Ministra de Ciencia, Tecnología y Medio Ambiente) in the Cuban Council of Ministers in 2012 .
