The Elbe Wochenblatt is a free weekly newspaper and an advertising paper for the west and south of Hamburg.

Founded in 1963 by Jörn Legahn, then sold. Today, 24.9% belong to the Funke publishing group , 75.1% of the shares belong to HVB (main shareholder Madsack , Hanover). The publisher publishes the weekly local editions Altonaer Wochenblatt, Elbvororte Wochenblatt, Eidelstedter Wochenblatt, Luruper Wochenblatt, Harburger Wochenblatt, Wilhelmsburger Wochenblatt and Süderelbe Wochenblatt as well as the weekend edition Wochenblatt zum Wochenblatt (only in the south of Hamburg). The advertising paper appears in conjunction with the FUNKE advertising papers Hamburger Wochenblatt and Bille Wochenblatt .

Managing director Michael Heinz is the brother of the former Hamburger Wochenblatt managing director Manfred Raimund Heinz, who set up the Hamburger Wochenblatt publishing house for Axel Springer in 1976. After retiring due to old age, Manfred Raimund Heinz founded the publishing house HANSEPRESS and is a. a. publishes the Volksdorfer Zeitung magazine every month.

The Elbe Wochenblatt is distributed free of charge to all accessible households on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The editorial content includes district-related topics from all areas (politics, culture, society, etc.). The typical yard reporting is dispensed with. The reporting is non-partisan and independent. The publisher is considered to be the most economically successful advertising paper in Hamburg.
