Elcat Electric Vehicles was a Finnish manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Elcat Oy from Helsinki has been experimenting with electric cars since 1975 . The company founded Elcat Electric Vehicles in Järvenpää in 1985 . Development began in that year, followed by automobile production in 1990. The brand name was Elcat . Production ended in 2002. A total of over 200 copies were made. The main customer was the Finnish Post.

The vehicles were electric cars. The production took place in cooperation with Subaru . Most of the vehicles were small delivery vans based on the Subaru Sambar . The Cityvan 202 model has a top speed of 90 km / h and a range of 80 km (in the city).
