The Eldenaer Strasse Bridge or Scheffelstrasse Bridge in Berlin is a road bridge that connects the two districts of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and Lichtenberg . Formerly consisting of two separate bridges, the structure now forms a contiguous road bridge.
history
The Scheffelstrasse Bridge was built in 1906 and 1907 by the Royal Railway Directorate in Berlin to bridge the steam-powered Ringbahn. The bridge is 52.21 meters long and 22.62 meters wide. Many years later, the Eldena road bridge was built across from it between 1933 and 1934 to enable the Berlin Ringbahn to pass through. The second bridge is 13.40 m long and 23.70 m wide. The bridges were extensively renovated between 1997 and 1999.
