ebXML

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ebXML stands for Electronic Business using XML , i. H. XML for electronic business processes .

ebXML is a joint initiative launched in 1999 by UN / CEFACT and OASIS . The aim of the initiative is to develop a technical framework for the use of XML for electronic business processes and to lower the entry barriers for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and developing countries .

ebXML is not a standard in itself, but a family of different standards from UN / CEFACT and OASIS. The ebXML standards include a. the basic technical ebXML architecture (ebXML Technical Architecture Specification) , an XML schema for business processes (Business Process Specification Schema) , a registration service (Registry Services Specification) with a registry information model ebRIM and a message service (Message Service Specification) .

EbXML was developed in two phases. The first phase was completed in May 2001 after 18 months. In autumn 2003, the second phase was ended with the declaration that the project was technically complete.

ebXML competes with other XML-based standards, such as B. RosettaNet .
