Universal Business Language

Universal Business Language ( UBL ) is an OASIS specification for standardized e-business documents (e.g. invoice or order). UBL uses XML and is based on the ebXML Core Components .

In 2004, OASIS released Universal Business Language 1.0. Jon Bosak was instrumental in the specification. The international standard ISO / IEC 19845: 2015 specifies the requirements for the Universal Business Language in version 2.1 (UBL v2.1)

The UBL is used, among other things, in Tradeshift , a web-based social network for companies .
