Small electric vehicle

As a miniature electric vehicle ( EKF ) for the purposes of miniature electric vehicles Regulation (eKFV) are in Germany vehicles with electric drive and a maximum design speed of at least 6 km / h to a maximum of 20 km / h denotes the following characteristics ( § 1 para. 1 eKFV ):

  1. Vehicle without a seat or self-balancing vehicle with or without a seat,
  2. a handlebar or handrail,
  3. a power limitation to 500  W or 1.4 kW for self-balancing vehicles,
  4. a maximum vehicle mass without driver of 55 kg.

Self-balancing vehicles keep themselves upright with integrated electronic balance, drive, steering and deceleration technology.

The EKF include B. the electric scooters or Segways . E-boards, on the other hand, are not included.
