Electrical engineering officer

The electrical engineering officer (EO) is a section head for ship electrics on board a warship of the German Navy , i. H. of the entire electrical system from the electric diesels to the lighting. He is subordinate to the main section head of main section 200 ( ship technology ), the ship's engineering officer (STO) and under disciplinary law to the first officer of the ship.

According to the strength and equipment certificate (StAN), officers in the rank of lieutenant at sea to first lieutenant at sea of the troop service are usually provided for filling the post . The post is seldom taken over by an officer of the military technical service . The electrotechnical officer also regularly takes on tasks as watch chief ship technology (WST) at sea and in port.

Subordinate to him are the electrical engineering masters as well as several NCOs and crews .
