Elena Bondar

Elena Bondar (born November 6, 1958 ) is a former Romanian rower who won an Olympic bronze medal in eighth place in 1980 .

In 1980, only five women eight took part in the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow . The Romanian eighth with Angelica Aposteanu , Marlena Zagoni , Rodica Frîntu , Florica Bucur , Rodica Puscatu , Ana Iliuță , Maria Constantinescu , Elena Bondar and helmsman Elena Dobrițoiu won the bronze medal behind the boats from the GDR and the USSR.

The following year, the Romanian eighth rowed at the World Championships in Munich with Rodica Frîntu, Florica Bucur, Luminata Furcila , Maricica Țăran , Cristina Onofrei , Maria Naghiu , Mariana Zaharia , Elena Bondar and Elena Dobrițoiu. The boat from the USSR won ahead of the boat from the United States and the Romanians.
