Riverton Railroad Depot
The Riverton Railroad Depot is a historic train station on 1st Main Street in Riverton , Wyoming . The station was built from 1906 to 1907 by the Chicago and North Western Railway on the 1906 Bonneville – Lander railway through central Wyoming.
The town of Riverton emerged with the construction of the railway. After the Second World War , passenger transport was discontinued due to a lack of demand. In 1974 the station was to be demolished. Instead, a group of residents bought and restored the depot building, which now houses some businesses. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 22, 1978 .
The station is the last existing station building of the C&NW west of Casper.
