Riverton is a city ( City ) in Fremont County in the US state of Wyoming with over 10,000 inhabitants.

The location is on the Bighorn River in the Wind River Indian Reservation in the Shoshone National Forest near the Fitzpatrick Wilderness . In 1830 one of the annual fur trade rendezvous took place here.

The Riverton Railroad Depot has existed since 1907 .
