Siegfried Schneider (Author)
Siegfried Schneider (* 1937 in Bochum ) is a German journalist, author and screenwriter. He gained fame as the author of the books for the crime series Siska , for which he wrote more than a third of the stories. At the time, the press built him up as the successor to permanent writer Herbert Reinecker , who left Siska after four episodes due to age.
Life and work
Schneider, known as Sigi, worked for Hörzu from the age of 25 and was thus active as a journalist for 30 years between 1962 and 1992. He worked as a correspondent in various German and Austrian cities, including Munich, Mainz, Hamburg, and Vienna. In 1993 he started his television activity. Between 1997 and 2006 he worked exclusively for the Munich producer Helmut Ringelmann and his crime series Der Alte und Siska . Siegfried Schneider commented on this collaboration to Gong (3/1999) as follows: "I feel that I am in good hands in this environment, both professionally and personally." When asked that he would succeed Herbert Reinecker as an author at Siska , he said: “I would like Mr. Reinecker's talent for building up and telling the story, and my own style in the dialogues.” He described it as follows: “Quiet or loud, lively or contemplative - depending on the subject, and based entirely on the representational versatility of the three protagonists and their characters tailored, which I hope I can do. ”His cases are“ two thirds of reality plus one third of fantasy. Much of what I read, hear or see is tapped for crime fiction suitability and used fictitiously. "
