Elias Karam ( Arabic الياس كرم; * 1960 in Hassaké ) is a Syrian solo singer of Aramaic / Assyrian descent from the al-Hasakah governorate . He has been composing oriental music since 1982 , dances the Dabke and is a musician of the Syrian-Arabic Tarab.

Life

Elias learned to play the oud from his father and was inspired by Wadih El Safi at an early age , which helped him write his first song at the age of 16. When Elias reached the professional age of 20, he began to compose music. His most famous Tarab song is "'Amari", "Tarab ya kalbi" and "Koullon' anak saalouni". Elias toured all over the Arab world , Canada , the United States and a number of European countries. He also appeared on some of Syria's television programs .
