Elif Ozmen

Elif Özmen (* 1974 in Bremen ) is professor for practical philosophy at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen .

biography

Özmen studied philosophy, history of science and German philology at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main from 1993 to 1999 (degree: Magister Artium ).

She then worked as a research assistant at the LMU Munich and the University of Göttingen. In 2004 she received her doctorate with the thesis Morality, Rationality and Successful Life at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 2010, Özmen completed his habilitation with the thesis Truth and Justification. On the political philosophy of liberalism , for which she received the habilitation award from the University Society of the Ludwig Maximilians University.

After a substitute professorship at the University of Hamburg , she took up the professorship for practical philosophy (value development and civic engagement) in Regensburg in 2013 . Since autumn 2016 she has held the chair for philosophy with a focus on the fundamentals of theoretical ethics and political philosophy at the University of Giessen .
