The Elisabeth-Christinen-Grundschule (short: ECG) is a primary school in the Berlin-Pankow district of Niederschönhausen .
Origin of name
The Elisabeth-Christinen-Grundschule takes its name from Elisabeth Christine , the wife of Friedrich II , who lived in Schönhausen Palace for a long time .
location
The school was located on Lindenberger Straße and partly on Rolandstraße . The connection to local public transport was via the bus line 250, which has a stop on Lindenberger Straße. In February 2019 the school moved to another location, Buchholzer Straße 3, to the building of the former Hans Fallada School in the Niederschönhausen district.
The dilapidated building in prefabricated construction at Lindenberger Str. 12, Niederschönhausen, which does not meet modern fire protection regulations , is vacant and is to be renovated so that a new elementary school can move into it. Towards the end it had to work with security guards as fire alarms in order to be able to guarantee fire protection.
Premises
The school has a dining room in the basement, which is often used as an auditorium . The classrooms, which are arranged according to grade levels, as well as specialist rooms are located on the four floors.
Outdoor area
The outdoor area extends both behind and in front of the school building. While there is a small hill area to play in the rear part, the students can work in the transition area between the two courtyard parts in the school garden. In the front courtyard there is a stone-paved sports field and several play equipment.
Gym
The sports hall is not located on the premises of the elementary school, but is located about 50 meters further on the premises of the Konrad-Duden-Oberschule .
profile
The school is a reliable half-day elementary school , both entrance classes of which are three-class. In the 5th and 6th grades there are profile courses in the arts, linguistic, sporting and scientific fields. There are also collaborations with Schönhausen Palace and the Fröhlich Music School.
particularities
The Elisabeth-Christinen-Primary School has a focus on the promotion of gifted children . The school participates in the program " Performance Makes School" of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in cooperation with the federal states and also uses the "mBET - multidimensional talent development tool" developed in Austria .
