Elisabeth Erikson

Elisabeth Erikson (born March 5, 1947 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

She made her debut in 1971 as Rosina in The Barber of Seville at the Stora Theater in Gothenburg.

In 1994 she moved to the newly opened Swedish Opera House Göteborgsoperan . There her first role was the Daisy Doodie from Aniara , an opera by the Swedish composer Karl-Birger Blomdahl .

Among other roles, she plays Violetta in La Traviata , Pamina in Die Zauberflöte , Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro , Anne Trulove in Der Wüstling ( Rucklarens väg ) and the title role in Shostakovich's Katarina Ismailowa .

She also became known for her role as Papagena in Ingmar Bergman's highly acclaimed film version of The Magic Flute ( Trollflöjten ) from 1975.
