Elisabeth Peterburs

Elisabeth Peterburs (born September 21, 1905 in Gifhorn ; † April 24, 1993 in Peine ) was a German politician ( KPD ) and a member of the Hanoverian Landtag .

Life

Elisabeth Peterburs attended elementary school. She joined the KPD in 1929. From 1930 to August 1933 she took over the leadership of a Gifhorn local group of Red Aid Germany , a political aid organization closely related to the KPD. She was arrested in 1933 and served first in the Brauweiler concentration camp until December 1933, then in prisons in Cologne and Berlin. She was brought before a higher court and sentenced in March 1934 to a prison term of 22 months for preparing for high treason. She was transferred to Hanover and finally released in July 1935. After the end of the Second World War, she joined the Peine local group of the KPD in 1945.

From August 23, 1946 to October 29, 1946, Elisabeth Peterburs was a member of the appointed Hanover State Parliament.
