Elisabeth Roth
Elisabeth Roth (born November 30, 1920 in Hösbach ; † May 4, 2010 ) was a German folklorist .
Career
On April 6, 1970, Roth was appointed associate professor at the Bamberg University of Education . From January 1, 1971 until her retirement on March 31, 1989, she was a full professor of local history and folklore. As the founding rector, she played a key role in the development of the newly founded Bamberg University .

Foundation, endowment
The Otto Meyer and Elisabeth Roth Foundation is named after Elisabeth Roth and her husband, the Franconian regional historian Otto Meyer (1906–2000) . The Otto Meyer and Elisabeth Roth Prize is awarded annually for outstanding doctorates on topics relating to rural areas in Franconia.
