Elisabeth Schlueter

Elisabeth Schlüter (* 1924 in Radebeul ; † 1978 ) was a German freelance painter and illustrator .

Schlüter worked in watercolor and created fairy tale pictures, but also portraits and nature studies. As an illustrator, she worked with Herbert Weymar in the 1970s , whose books were published in several editions by Neumann Verlag in Radebeul . This is how Lernt got to know plants: the most widespread wild and cultivated plants in Central Europe and their locations with 880 illustrations by Elisabeth Schlüter and Kurt Schulze in its 5th edition in 1988. Editions were also published by the cooperating Westverlag Verlag J. Neumann-Neudamm , Learn to Know Plants was also published in Dutch. The pictures in the estate bear witness to the painter's stays in the Ahrenshoop artists' colony and in the Prerow seaside resort . During the last years of her life, Schlüter lived in Pillnitz Castle .
