Elise LeGrow
Elise Madeline LeGrow (born June 4, 1987 ) is a Canadian R&B and soul singer and songwriter . Her musical style is often compared to that of Amy Winehouse .
biography
After performing at the North by Northeast Festival in Toronto in 2009, LeGrow was signed to Sony / ATV Music Publishing . There she released two EPs .
Her first single No Good Woman was one of the most played singles on Canadian radio in April 2012. It reached number 6 on the “Nielsen BDS Adult Contemporary Chart” and stayed in the top ten for 13 weeks.
In 2016, now under contract with Awesome Music, she began recording her first album. The album with covers of older Chess Records was produced by Steve Greenberg, Michael Mangini and Betty Wright . Questlove , Captain Kirk Douglas and The Dap Kings were involved in the recordings.
The first single came out in May 2017, You Never Can Tell , originally by Chuck Berry . In June 2017, Who Do You Love ( Bo Diddley ) was released, which entered the “CBC Radio 2 Charts” at number 15 and finally made it into the top ten.
Elise LeGrow released her debut album Playing Chess on February 16, 2018.
