Ellesmere is a subway station in Toronto . It is on the Scarborough Line of the Toronto Subway , on Ellesmere Road between Kennedy Road and Midland Avenue. The station, which has side platforms at ground level, is used by an average of 1,560 passengers every day (2015) and is by far the least frequented of the entire network.

The reason for the low occupancy is the location in a low-density industrial area. There are transfer options to two bus lines that run on a bridge over the station. A park-and-ride with 60 parking spaces is also available to commuters . In this area, the route follows the route of the Canadian National Railway ; north of the station, the subway crosses under the railway line in a short tunnel and describes a tight 90 ° curve, before reaching a viaduct.

The station opened on March 24, 1985, along with the entire Scarborough line between Kennedy and McCowan . According to current plans, the Scarborough line could be replaced by an extension of the Bloor-Danforth line , but on a different route.
