The Ellis Narrows ( English are) one of the tidal certain Strait on the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth country . In the Vestfold Mountains , it connects Prydz Bay with the Ellis Fjord .
The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named them based on the name of the fjord of the same name. Its namesake is the American photographer Edwin E. Ellis (* 1924), who was responsible for the aerial photographs of Operation Highjump (1946-1947) in this area.
