Eloeophila maculata is a mosquito from the family of wilts (Limoniidae).

features

The mosquito reaches a body length of 8 to 10 millimeters. Her abdomen is yellow-brown in color, on the thorax there are two brown-colored lines that are flanked by dots of the same color. The relatively large wings have many dark spots along the longitudinal veins.

Way of life and distribution

The animals occur in Central and Southern Europe and colonize moist forests and swamp forests. The adults fly from June to September.
