Helvekonen
The Helvekonen (Latin Helvecones also Elouaiones , Elvaionen or Aelvaeones , Aelvaeonen , Ailouaiones (Αἰλουαίωνες) Alouiones (Αλουίωνες) Helouaiones ( 'Ελουαίωνες) Ailouones (Αἰλούονες) Helouones (' Ελουωνες)) were an East Germanic tribal group . In the 1st century AD they settled between the Oder and the Vistula , in what is now Silesia . Tacitus names them as a sub-tribe of the Lugians . Ptolemy, on the other hand, cites them, but there is no reference to a relationship between the Helvekonen and the Lugians.
