Elsebeth Reingaard

Elsebeth Reingaard (born September 16, 1947 in Copenhagen ; † May 23, 2004 there ) was a Danish actress .

Career

Before her breakthrough as an actress, she was a fashion mannequin in Germany, Denmark and France. As a film actress she made her debut in Paradis retur in 1964 and received a debutant prize ( debutantpris ) from the Danish Ministry of Culture . In 1965 she made her theater debut with a role in Comediehuset in Copenhagen. She became known to German audiences in particular through the Danish film adaptation of Henry Miller's novel Stille Tage in Clichy in 1970, in which she played one of the leading roles. She later began studying art history and law at the University of Copenhagen and gave up acting. By 1972 she was involved as an actress with a total of eight films.

With Jesper Høm , the cameraman of the film Quiet Days in Clichy , she was married in first marriage. From this marriage comes their son, the photographer Marc Reingaard Høm . After the divorce she married the Danish lawyer Per Neumann , with whom she had a daughter, the actress Helene Reingaard Neumann . After her death in 2004 she was buried in Holmens Kirkegård , the oldest cemetery in Copenhagen.
