The Elta GmbH was a German importer of Asian electrical appliances, founded in 1968 in Hamburg by Hans-Peter Senn. The headquarters of the company, which last had 70 employees, was in Rödermark ( Hesse ). The annual turnover was 100 million euros in 2006 and 110 million euros in 2007. The annual import volume was between six and seven million devices, mainly entertainment electronics and electrical kitchen appliances from the low-price segment. The company was sold by Malte Daun to emdequity GmbH in 2009. On June 30, 2010, the Rödermark location was closed and all employees were terminated in a socially acceptable manner. The Hong Kong location was not affected. On January 1, 2011, the elta brand was sold to Yücel Trading GmbH.
