Elvira is an early ripening, waxy potato variety .

description

The country of origin is Germany. The approval took place in 1974, the variety has a medium-early ripening period. The tuber is long-oval, the skin color is yellow, the meat color is also yellow. Flat eyes prevail. The variety is mainly used as a waxy salad product.

Elvira is resistant to potato wart and potato cyst nematodes Ro1. A high resistance to late blight , potato scab , Rhizoctonia , potato virus A and potato virus X is characteristic.

The variety served as the breeding basis for the Provento and Timate varieties . Like the Nicola variety, Elvira comes from the Clivia variety .
