Elvis Martínez (singer)
Elvis Martínez (* in San Francisco de Macorís ), known as El Camarón , is a Dominican Bacha singer, songwriter and guitarist.
Martínez had a contract with the Bachata label Premium Latin Music from the mid-1990s , where he released his first solo album Todo Se Paga in 1998 , which was awarded a Discovery of the Year award by the New York Association of Latin Entertainment Critics . Further albums with Premium Latin Music followed ( Directo al Corazón , 1999, Tres Palabras , 2002, Así Te Amo , 2003, Descontrolado , 2004). Así Te Amo was awarded a Premio Casandra as the best song of the year in 2004, Martínez himself with the Premio Lo Nuestro Award as Best Traditional Tropical Artist .
In 2005 Martínez moved to Union Records , where his most successful album to date, Yo Soy Más Grande Que El (with the hit singles Tu Traicion and Yo No Naci Para Amar ) was released. A little later he switched again to the Universal Music Group , where he released the album La Luz de Mis Ojos (2007). For Premium Latin Music 2012 appeared Esperanza .
