Emek Jizre'el (מועצה אזורית עמק יזרעאל, 'Jezreel Plain') is a regional association in central Israel with fifteen kibbutzim , fifteen moshavim , six community settlements and two villages. The area lies in the Jezreel plain , is 90 km² in size and has 35,900 inhabitants (as of 2014).
history
The regional association was founded at the end of 1941, as the second regional association after the Emek Chefer founded in 1940 . After various administrative mergers, it was merged with the Kishon regional association in 1980, which had been formed in 1957 from the Nahalal and Kishon regional associations .
