Emil Schabl

Emil Schabl (born March 24, 1963 in Lilienfeld , Lower Austria ) is a former Austrian trade unionist ( FSG ) and politician ( SPÖ ).

From 2003 to 2008 he was regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government Pröll III . He was also a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament and its second president .

Career

After attending the elementary school in Türnitz and the secondary school in Lilienfeld , Schabl completed an apprenticeship as a fitter at the then nationalized VÖEST in Traisen, followed by a skilled worker examination. Schabl became District Secretary of the Metall-Bergbau-Energie Baden trade union and at the state level Secretary for Youth and Organization in Lower Austria. From 2002 to 2008 he was chairman of the parliamentary group of social democratic trade unionists (FSG) in Lower Austria.

Emil Schabl is married and has four children.

Political career

For 13 years (1990–2003) Schabl was mayor of his home community Hirtenberg , from October 5, 2000 he was also a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament and from April 19, 2001 its second president. From April 24, 2003 until the lost election in 2008, he was a member of the Lower Austrian provincial government. Then he sat again as a member of the state parliament of the SPÖ in the Lower Austrian state parliament.

In Hirtenberg he ran in the municipal council elections in March 2010 with his own list, with which he immediately won 6 seats. In July 2010 he was expelled from the SPÖ.
