Emil Wüst & Söhne is a traditional printing and publishing house based in Weida, Thuringia .

history

In 1911 Emil Wüst founded the company at Burgstrasse 9, later he acquired the former Hotel Bräunlich with inner courtyard and side building at Burgstrasse 10 . He moved into these rooms around 1920 with his family and his machines. In 1925 the printing house published the first Weidaer Wochenblatt , but had to be discontinued in 1936 "due to a lack of National Socialist characteristics". After the death of Emil Wüst, the eldest son Reinhold took over the business. When he was drafted into the Wehrmacht in World War II , his wife ran the printing company. In 1973, the printing master Peter Wüst followed and in 1990 converted the company from Gutenbergs Technik to a modern offset company. Since 1991 the Weidaer Wochenblatt has been reissued for Weida and the surrounding area. In 2005, the great-granddaughter Cornelia Wüst took over the business, which means that the company has been in the fourth generation without interruption.
