Emilio Capacetti
Emilio Capacetti (born March 21, 1895 in Ponce , † August 1983 ) was a Puerto Rican singer.
Capacetti came from a musical family. His father played the cello, guitar and cuatro , and his siblings were also active musicians. As a child he was a soloist in the school choir, had music lessons with members of the town band when he was eleven, and learned to play the clarinet and drums.
He worked in a duo with Ramón Moncho Vías , Pío Rodríguez , Juan Margari (until 1918), Pepito Martínez (1919–1922) and Juan Correa (1922–1924) and from 1925 formed the Dúo Ponceño with Guillermo Arroyo . From 1968 he formed the Duo Capacetti-Torres with Miguel Ángel Torres and recorded three albums with him for the Asociación Puertorriqueña de Amantes de la Música del Ayer (APAMA): Música Interantillana , Serenata and Reminiscencias . In 1974 the duo performed at the Festival de la Música del Ayer in Santo Domingo. In 1977 Capacetti ended his active musical career.
