Emily Berry

Emily Berry (born 1981 in London ) is a British poet.

Life

Emily Berry studied English at Leeds University and creative writing at Goldsmiths College . She is studying for a doctorate at the University of East Anglia .

In 2013, she published her first collection of poems, Dear Boy , which won the Hawthornden Prize and the Forward Prize for Best First Collection . In 2017 a second collection of poems will be published under the title Stranger, Baby .

Berry has been the editor of the traditional Poetry Review , founded in 1912, since 2017 ; among their predecessors were Muriel Spark , Adrian Henri and Andrew Motion .
