The Emirgan Park , in Turkish Emirgân Korusu or Emirgan parkı , is a public park in Istanbul . The landscape-style facility has a dense population of trees. Every year in May there is a tulip exhibition here.
history
The site was originally part of Istanbul's urban forest. In the 19th century, Ismail Pasha had a representative country house built on the Bosporus (a palace directly on the water, a yali ). The forest at the rear was redesigned into a garden.
At the end of the 20th century, the Turkish Touring and Automobile Club ( TTOK , Türkiye Turing ve Otomobil Kurumu ) initiated the restoration of the three garden pavilions .
Components
In addition to the yellow (Sarı Köşk) , the pink (Beyaz Köşk) and the white pavilion (Beyaz Köşk) there is a large artificial lake with an island. There is also a waterfall and a grotto .
