Emma Bachmayer

Emma Bachmayer ( 1898 - after 1969) was a German countrywoman and farmer.

Life

From 1935 on, Bachmayer worked as a teacher with the right to train rural women . After the early death of her husband, she and her son managed the 20 hectare farm in Oftersheim . In 1945 she was elected chairman of the rural women’s association in North Baden. She gave lectures in which she spoke about the latest working methods, among other things.

For her lasting merits in training and advising rural women, she was the first woman to be awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on December 28, 1951, and in 1969 with 1st class.
