Emma Eigenmann

Emma Eigenmann (* the 30th October 1930 in Nendeln as Emma Schaedler ) is a Liechtenstein politician of the Progressive Citizens' Party . In 1986 she was the first woman to be elected to the state parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein .

biography

Emma Eigenmann is one of four daughters of the entrepreneur and later member of the state parliament Eugen Schädler and his wife Elwina Katharina (née Hoop). The Liechtenstein politician Josef Hoop is her maternal uncle. The politician Susanne Eberle-Strub is her niece .

Two years after the introduction of women's suffrage at state level, Eigenmann was elected to the state parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein on February 2, 1986. She was the only woman among the 15 MPs . In the early state elections in 1989, she was re-elected. She was also the only woman in this state parliament, although the state parliament now comprised 25 members . In the state parliament elections in February 1993, she decided not to run again and thus left the state parliament.
