Eugen Schädler

Eugen Schädler (born April 17, 1899 in Nendeln ; † September 22, 1973 there ) was a Liechtenstein member of the state parliament and entrepreneur.

biography

Eugen Schädler was born in 1899 as the son of the deputy state parliament member Gebhard Schädler and his wife Anna (née Beck). He was a citizen of the municipality of Eschen, whose district is Nendeln. Schadler attended elementary school in Eschen. He then attended the teachers' seminar in Feldkirch and the Hafner technical school in Steyr . In 1929 he returned to Liechtenstein and took over the family business Keramik Werkstatt Schaedler AG in Nendeln. At that time, the company mainly produced stove tiles . Schadler switched the production program to household ceramics, which meant that the company was hardly affected by the economic problems of the 1930s. Furthermore, he expanded the company.

From 1939 to 1957 he was a member of the State Parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein for the Progressive Citizens' Party in Liechtenstein (FBP) . He was also a member of the Eschen municipal council from 1942 to 1951. As a politician and entrepreneur, he campaigned for the introduction of company pension schemes. From 1947 to 1951 he sat on the board of directors of the Liechtenstein power plants and from 1956 to 1959 on the supervisory board of VP Bank. Schadler was a founding member of the Liechtenstein Chamber of Industry. He later became an honorary member.

In 1929 he married the sister of the Prime Minister Josef Hoop , Elwina Katharina Hoop. The marriage resulted in four daughters, including Emma Eigenmann, who later became a member of the state parliament . The politician Susanne Eberle-Strub is his granddaughter .
