Ángel Javier Pérez Pueyo (born August 18, 1956 in Ejea de los Caballeros , Aragon , Spain ) is a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Barbastro-Monzón .

Life

Ángel Javier Pérez Pueyo entered the seminary in Zaragoza in 1966, and in 1974 began studying Catholic theology and philosophy at the Regional Center for Theological Studies of Aragon . On March 19, 1980, he received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Plasencia . Pérez Pueyo then obtained a degree in philosophy and education from the University of Salamanca .

On December 27, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Barbastro-Monzón. The Archbishop of Valladolid , Ricardo Cardinal Blázquez Pérez , ordained him episcopal on February 22 of the following year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Saragossa , Vicente Jiménez Zamora , and his predecessor Alfonso Milián Sorribas .
