Emma Huismans

Emma Huismans (born July 10, 1947 in Bennekom , Netherlands ) is a South African writer, journalist and political activist .

At the age of five the family immigrated to South Africa and Emma learned the Afrikaans language . As an adult, she became a reporter for Crisis News . She campaigned for the end of apartheid , which was complicated not only by her white skin color, but also by her coming out as a lesbian .
