action

Emma runs a small chocolate shop. Suddenly she disappears - to the chagrin of her niece Natascha, who had an appointment with her in the chocolate shop. She leaves a letter asking her sister Cornelia, Natasha's mother, to take care of the business while she is away. She does not reveal anything about the purpose of her trip.

The next day, the seedy chocolate dealer Otilo turns up in the chocolate shop. His company Chocolato is a large, cheap chocolate supplier, from whom Emma has previously bought her chocolates. He looks for Emma and leaves his business card with Cornelia in the chocolate shop. A video message tells the family that Emma has flown to South America. There she investigates the origin of her chocolate and the company of Mr. Otilo.

Since the stocks of chocolate are slowly running out and they urgently need replenishment, Cornelia visits Mr Otilo together with Natascha in his villa on the outskirts. But Natascha doesn't trust him on the way. To find evidence of his criminal activities, Natascha sneaks through the house and discovers the domestic servant Amalia. She is illegally employed by Mr. Otilo and is treated badly by him. Natascha offers her help, but Amalia is scared and wants to stay with Mr. Otilo for the time being.

Then Emma returns from South America. There she found out about the living and working conditions of the plantation workers and is shocked by the poor conditions. She decides to only offer fair trade chocolate in her chocolate in the future. Natascha finally frees Amalia from Mr. Otilo's house together with her friend Hina.

At the end there will be a big opening ceremony for the chocolate shop, which will now only sell fair trade chocolate.
