Emmi Kähler-Meyer

Emmi Kähler-Meyer (born November 30, 1903 in Hamburg ; † June 1, 1998 ) was a German Africanist.

Life

After her doctorate in 1936 ( Etymological Phonology of Nyanja (Nyasaland) ) in Hamburg and her habilitation ( Mambila study ) on October 16, 1939, she taught there from 1942 to 1949 as a lecturer in African languages, from 1949 to 1965 as an adjunct professor for African languages ​​and from 1965 to 1969 as a scientific adviser and professor for African languages.
