Emotikon is a German electro - duo consisting of singer Natalie Malladi-Rao and composer Tom Tron .

The name of the band is derived from the smileys ( emoticons ) that have become popular in the internet language , through which one can communicate states of mind with just a few characters.

history

The band was founded in 2011 in Düsseldorf . In 2013 the company moved to Cologne .

In October 2014, co-founder Mine Voss was announced. Natalie Malladi-Rao joined the band as the new singer.
