Reception tower Utlandshörn

The reception tower Utlandshörn was a 65 meter high timber frame tower made of oak on the area of ​​the reception point Utlandshörn . This tower carried wire antennas on four teak- made brackets attached to the top of the structure to receive shortwave signals . It was built in 1935. In mid-1976 it was replaced by an antenna system - which had also disappeared in the meantime - attached to steel towers and was torn down in early 1977. At that time it was one of the last large wooden towers in Germany . Some carvings and other pieces of jewelry were made from the wood of the demolished tower.
