from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Encyclopedia of Concise Concepts by Women Philosophers , or ECC for short, is an online dictionary of terms that only contains entries on concepts from the writings of women philosophers . The ECC is a project of the Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists and is freely accessible on its website. The lexicon, which is still under construction, has been online since 2018 and the articles are continuously expanded by international researchers. Each entry explains the meaning of a philosophical concept that was founded or significantly developed by a female philosopher. The articles refer to women philosophers from the entire history of philosophy , from antiquity to the present. All articles are peer-reviewed prior to publication . An entry usually consists of a short introductory text and information on primary and secondary sources . The entries in the lexicon are part of the digital collection of the University of Paderborn and as such are provided with a DOI number, which identifies them as scientific publications.

The editors of the Encyclopedia of Concise Concepts by Women Philosophers are Ruth Hagengruber and Mary Ellen Waithe.
