Engelbert Leber

Engelbert Leber (born November 2, 1876 in Koblenz , † September 29, 1920 ) was a German metallurgist.

Life

Engelbert Leber, like his older brother Jacob, who later owned an iron foundry machine factory in Koblenz, studied metallurgy at the Freiberg Bergakademie . After completing his studies and obtaining a doctorate as Dr.-Ing. he completed his habilitation at the Bergakademie. Since 1912 he has given special lectures on foundry science. In addition to technological issues relating to the manufacture of malleable cast iron and annealing refining , he also dealt with the business aspects of the foundry industry . He wrote the biography of Adolf Ledebur , one of the founders of the scientific treatment of the foundry industry.

Like his brother, Leber was a member of the Corps Franconia Freiberg .
